Whether or not to publish an image is a delicate balance. Respecting my fellow travellers is very important to me. However, the boundary between respectful and disrespectful is ambiguous. Because this is often determined by society, by someone’s upbringing and culture, everyone will have their own opinion on the subject.
The travellers who were photographed in the vehicles all got an explanation on my project and my contact information. For the people that I photographed outside the vehicle, it was practically impossible to inform them.
A large amount of the conversations in the project were of a more personal nature. That is why names and any other identifying information was altered or left out. The people whose conversations I wrote down, do not appear in the photographs.
